The coral cutters from Turtle Island near Bali are eight fishermen who cut coral blocks from the reef on behalf of the local temple administrators. The so-called holy stones are required as building material for the local temple, which is made of coral from the ground up. Since then, the district and regional government has banned coral cutting.
